Sattar claimed that Karachi’s citizens have not forgotten the circumstances under which Wahab assumed the mayoral position—emphasizing that the mandate lacked legitimacy since MQM-P had boycotted the local body elections nearly two years ago. According to him, the public continues to see Wahab’s leadership as questionable and ineffective.

Performance vs. Public Service

Karachi Governance– Drawing comparisons, Sattar praised Governor Kamran Tessori, who he said has been relentlessly working for the people of Karachi—visiting public spaces, addressing citizens’ grievances, and dedicating long hours of service. In contrast, he accused Wahab of claiming credit for development projects that were never his, including roadworks and infrastructural improvements along Sharea Faisal, which Sattar stressed were actually executed by the cantonment boards.

The MQM-P stalwart argued that these attempts to portray borrowed achievements as his own only exposed Wahab’s desperation to mask failures and maintain political credibility.

Concerns Over Road Safety and Governance Neglect

Sattar went on to address another pressing issue that has deeply impacted Karachiites—the rising number of road accidents caused by heavy vehicles. He highlighted that these tragedies, often the result of driver negligence and drug abuse, have claimed countless innocent lives in the city.

He demanded that a special investigative commission be formed to probe these accidents, citing the alarming lack of accountability and law enforcement. Yet, he expressed disappointment at the silence of Sindh’s ruling leadership, accusing them of ignoring Karachi’s everyday crises.

Growing Political Pressure on Wahab

The remarks have added to mounting pressure on Mayor Wahab, who is already facing widespread criticism for failing to address urban flooding, waste management, traffic chaos, and public safety issues. Sattar insisted that unless there is a significant change in Karachi’s governance structure, the people will continue to suffer under poor city management.
