DG ISPR Issues Strong Rebuttal
Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has firmly rejected claims that the Pakistan Army Chief, General Syed Asim Munir, made any comments about PTI or its founder Imran Khan during his recent Brussels visit.
Pakistan Army Chief and PTI Controversy
The clarification came after journalist Suhail Warraich claimed in his report that the Pakistan Army Chief mentioned PTI and expressed regret over political developments. DG ISPR dismissed these allegations as baseless and fabricated, stating they were spread for personal motives.
No Political Discussion in Brussels
DG ISPR confirmed that during the Brussels event, hundreds of overseas Pakistanis met the army chief and took pictures in a peaceful environment. He emphasized that no discussion regarding PTI or political matters took place at the gathering.
Warning Against Misinformation
The DG ISPR urged journalists to maintain responsibility and verify facts before publishing such claims. He said false reporting damages credibility and creates unnecessary political controversy.
