KARACHI: In a heartbreaking incident at Hawks Bay Beach, three young men drowned while swimming near Manora Road, leaving the city in shock. According to ARY News, Edhi Foundation divers managed to save one victim, but the body of another was recovered. Sadly, the search is still ongoing for the third missing swimmer.
The victims were identified as residents of Karachi’s Nazimabad area. The survivor, Hasnain, was rescued alive, while Bilal’s body was recovered. The third victim, Shahab, remains untraced despite continuous rescue efforts. Officials confirmed that operations would continue until sunset, as darkness poses a major challenge for divers.
This tragedy follows a similar drowning incident at Hawks Bay just days earlier, where three friends – Khizr, Arbaz, and Armaan – drowned near Abdul Rehman Goth during a picnic. Thankfully, they were recovered in semi-conscious condition and shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for urgent treatment.
In another shocking case, two boys, aged 15 and 16, drowned near Sandspit, while four more lost their lives at Turtle Beach, highlighting the rising number of such incidents at Karachi’s beaches.
Authorities have strongly warned the public against swimming in unsafe seaside areas, urging strict compliance with weather advisories, especially during monsoon and high tide.
