SCO Declaration backs Pakistan’s stance on terrorism
The latest SCO declaration has reinforced Pakistan’s long-standing position on terrorism, condemning all forms of extremism and rejecting double standards in the global fight. The statement also strongly denounced recent attacks on the Jaffer Express and a school bus in Khuzdar.
Member states urged collective measures against terrorism, including curbing cross-border movements, in line with UN resolutions. The SCO stressed that no country should exploit terrorist groups for political or proxy agendas.
The declaration also highlighted the need for an inclusive Afghan government to ensure stability, while affirming every nation’s sovereign right to shape its political, social, and economic path.
Significantly, the SCO’s endorsement of Pakistan’s evidence on cross-border terrorism reflects Islamabad’s effective diplomacy, positioning the country as a key regional stabilizer.
Beyond security, the SCO committed to deeper cooperation in areas such as anti-drug efforts, e-commerce, food security, artificial intelligence, tourism, and sustainable development.
