Islamabad – Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Islamabad to deliberate on Pakistan-China strategic partnership and regional security cooperation.
Both leaders reaffirmed their resolve to deepen the all-weather friendship, highlighting joint efforts in counter-terrorism, intelligence Pakistan, and security dialogue. They pledged to strengthen power balance in the region by working closely on defense and stability measures.
Wang Yi lauded the Pakistan Army as a pillar of power and stability, while Asim Munir expressed gratitude for China’s firm support in safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty, development, and long-term national interests.
The talks also centered on boosting China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects, with leaders emphasizing that economic integration alongside defense collaboration will solidify the Pakistan-China strategic partnership.
This engagement highlighted the determination of both nations to safeguard peace, ensure prosperity, and reinforce their influence in shaping regional security power dynamics.
