Xi Kim Meeting highlights China–North Korea ties and global diplomacy.
China defended its decision to invite North Korea’s Kim Jong Un and Russia’s Vladimir Putin to World War II commemorations in Beijing, after U.S. President Donald Trump accused them of conspiring against America.
Trump criticized Xi Jinping in a Truth Social post after the Chinese leader appeared alongside Kim and Putin at a military parade marking 80 years since WWII.
China’s foreign ministry responded that the event was meant to “cherish history, honor martyrs, and promote peace,” not target any country. Beijing dismissed EU diplomat Kaja Kallas’s criticism of the parade as “biased and irresponsible.”dawn.com
