Trump’s final warning to Hamas: Powerful New Ceasefire Deal Demands Full Hostage Release Former U.S. President Donald Trump issued what he described as a final warning to Hamas on Sunday, urging the group to accept a proposed deal to release hostages held in Gaza.
Trump Urges Hamas to Accept Ceasefire Deal or Face Tough Consequences
The Israelis have accepted terms. It’s time for Hamas to do the same. Trump stated in a post on his Truth Social platform. “I’ve warned Hamas about the consequences. This is my last warning—there won’t be another.”
According to a report by Israel’s N12 News, Trump has presented a new ceasefire proposal aimed at ending the conflict in Gaza. The deal would see Hamas release all remaining 48 hostages on the first day of a truce, in exchange for the release of thousands of Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails. Negotiations toward a broader end to the war would then continue during the ceasefire.
An Israeli official confirmed that the government is “seriously considering” the proposal, though no further details were shared. A day earlier, Trump told reporters that the U.S. is engaged in “very deep” negotiations with Hamas, emphasizing the need for the immediate release of all hostages. “Let them all out—right now,” he said. “Much better things will happen for them. But if they don’t, the situation will get very tough, very nasty.” He acknowledged that Hamas had made certain , final warning demands, calling some of them “fine,” but did not elaborate.
Proposed Agreement Includes Full Hostage Release in Exchange for Palestinian Prisoners
The crisis began after Hamas abducted more than 250 hostages during its October 2023 attack on Israel, which left around 1,200 people dead, according to Israeli sources. In response, Israel launched a military campaign in Gaza that has killed tens of thousands, displaced the entire population, and drawn widespread international criticism, including allegations of genocide and war crimes.
Roughly 50 Israeli hostages remain in Gaza, with around 20 believed to still be alive. While Hamas has signaled willingness to release some captives in exchange for a temporary ceasefire, Trump continues to demand the release of all hostages.
Trump, who has vowed to bring a swift end to the Gaza conflict as part of his presidential campaign, has yet to secure a resolution.
