A 29-year-old from central Karachi succumbed to an infection by Deadly Naegleria, known as the “brain-eating amoeba,” the Sindh Health Department confirmed. ARY NEWS

He began showing symptoms on September 7, was admitted to hospital on September 11, and Naegleria was confirmed on the same day he passed away. ARY NEWS

Authorities noted there was no history of swimming or using pools, and no known water-related risk exposure beyond regular use of tap water for bathing and drinking. ARY NEWS
