PESHAWAR: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rain Alert for four powerful days, from September 16 to 19, following forecasts of heavy rain, wind and thunderstorms in the province’s upper districts.

Officials warn that the incoming weather could trigger urban flooding, landslides, and rising water levels in streams. The 12 potentially affected districts include Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Buner, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi and Mardan.

The PDMA has directed district administrations to take precautionary measures, clear drainage systems, and ensure emergency teams are on standby. Citizens are advised to avoid unnecessary travel, stay away from rivers and nullahs, and cooperate with local authorities.
