Pakistan-Saudi Defence Pact has assured that its new Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement with Saudi Arabia is meant to boost cooperation and regional stability, not to target any third country.
Pakistan reaffirmed that the newly signed Pakistan-Saudi Defence Pact is aimed at strengthening bilateral security cooperation and ensuring peace in the region, without posing a threat to any other nation.
Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan said the agreement, signed during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to Riyadh, reflects the countries’ nearly eight decades of historic ties rooted in Islamic solidarity and shared values.
The deal ensures that any act of aggression against one country will be treated as aggression against both, highlighting deep trust and joint deterrence .tribunenews.
PM Shehbaz also conveyed gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s hospitality and extended best wishes for the kingdom’s prosperity, while Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman reaffirmed Riyadh’s support for Pakistan.
The pact was signed shortly after the Doha Arab-Islamic Summit, where PM Shehbaz strongly condemned Israeli aggression and reaffirmed Pakistan’s solidarity with Palestine.
