FO Criticizes India Pakistan’s Foreign Office (FO) has criticized India for distorting facts and twisting the recent remarks of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir, calling the act irresponsible and misleading.
The Foreign Office (FO) has issued a strong statement condemning India for what it described as a deliberate and irresponsible misrepresentation of comments made by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir. According to the FO, New Delhi took the general’s remarks out of context, reshaping them to fit a misleading narrative aimed at fueling propaganda against Pakistan.
In its statement, the FO said that General Munir’s original message was straightforward and based on factual realities, but Indian authorities twisted it for political advantage. This behavior, the FO added, reflects a long-standing pattern of distorting Pakistan’s position on key issues and undermining efforts for constructive dialogue between the two nations.
The spokesperson emphasized that responsible diplomacy requires honesty and mutual respect, both of which were absent in India’s handling of this matter. “By choosing to manipulate facts instead of engaging in direct, meaningful talks, India continues to erode the prospects for regional stability,” the FO asserted.
Pakistan urged the global community to take note of such tactics, warning that repeated distortion of official statements only deepens mistrust and increases tensions in South Asia. The FO reaffirmed its commitment to peace but stated that it will not remain silent in the face of deliberate misinformation campaigns targeting its leadership and national interests.
“It has always exercised discipline and restraint while dealing with the issues of such importance,” he said, adding: “Pakistan’s sustained and credible counterterrorism efforts are internationally acknowledged. Our security forces remain the bulwark against terrorism.”
Any Indian act of aggression or breach of Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity will be countered promptly and proportionately. Responsibility for any resulting escalation will lie entirely with the Indian leadership.
