Karachi, September 3, 2025 – The Sindh government has taken a bold leap in media innovation, signing two pivotal MoUs with tech-giant Google to launch transformative programs in digital education. The first expands the acclaimed People’s IT Program (PITP) into PITP-II, backed by a generous allocation of PKR 1.4 billion, helping 35,000 students—from matriculation to graduate level—gain advanced training in 12 cutting-edge technologies through renowned institutions like NED University, Mehran University, and Sukkur IBA. Notably, the program champions inclusivity, with strong representation from women and rural communities.
The second, “Digital Journalism 2.0”, is a groundbreaking collaboration between the Sindh government and Tech Valley, delivering 1,000 fully funded scholarships to journalists, media students, and government spokespersons.
Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah hailed this as a “milestone” toward fostering credible journalism and reinforcing transparency, while Information Minister Sharjeel Memon emphasized the program’s vital role in combating fake news and uplifting responsible media practices.
