Imaan Mazari urges IHC to secure CCTV footage over incident.
ISLAMABAD — Advocate Imaan Mazari has filed a formal plea with the Islamabad High Court (IHC), urging the preservation of CCTV footage of an alleged “unfortunate incident” that occurred in Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar’s courtroom.
Her application, submitted to the IHC Registrar, calls for safeguarding footage from Courtroom No.1 on September 11, 2025, between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM. Mazari also requested that the court provide a copy of the video on a USB drive for her legal record.
Earlier, Chief Justice Dogar clarified his remarks on possible contempt proceedings against Mazari, stating she is “like a daughter” to him and that his previous comments were taken out of context.arynews
The clarification came a day after a heated exchange between Mazari and the bench during a separate petition filed by activist Mahrang Baloch regarding the Exit Control List (ECL).
Dogar explained that he had been advising Mazari to avoid personal remarks and that reports of potential arrest were “misrepresented.” He stressed that his concern was to protect her legal career, not damage it.
Mazari’s latest application signals an effort to ensure transparency and protect legal rights in ongoing proceedings.
