PTI has strongly denounced the incident as an example of political victimization, asserting that Shahrez has no political involvement. The party claimed the raid was orchestrated by the current government, accusing it of moral, legal, and political bankruptcy. The News InternationalThe Express Tribune
Contrastingly, Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, indicated that the Lahore police chief initially denied knowledge of Shahrez’s arrest. He emphasized that the allegations remain unverified until substantiated, but Shahrez must appear before the court within 24 hours. The News International+1
