NCCIA books Iqra Kanwal, Nani Wala in scam

LAHORE: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has intensified its crackdown on digital influencers, booking Iqra Kanwal, Nadeem Mubarak (Nani Wala), and Hasnain Shah in three separate cases tied to illegal online trading apps.

According to NCCIA officials, the influencers were summoned three times but deliberately avoided appearing before investigators. Authorities allege they promoted fraudulent investment platforms that misled citizens with promises of quick profits. To ensure arrests, special teams have been formed to trace and detain them.

The latest action follows the arrest of Saad ur Rehman, widely known as Ducky Bhai, and Rajab Butt, who face similar charges of promoting gambling and unlawful financial schemes online. Officials said evidence, including mobile phones, suspicious contacts, and records of illicit transactions, was recovered from Ducky Bhai.

Iqra Kanwal, a doctor-turned-YouTuber with over five million subscribers on her family channel Sistrology, has also gained recognition for her entrepreneurial ventures. She recently launched a restaurant in Lahore alongside Ducky Bhai.

The NCCIA maintains that these influencers used their large online followings to promote betting apps and trading scams, luring thousands into unlawful activities. A probe into their assets is also underway to trace wealth allegedly generated through these schemes.

With these fresh cases, the NCCIA has expanded its investigation into Pakistan’s most popular YouTubers and content creators, signaling a powerful message against online fraud and illegal digital promotions.
