Pakistan and Kazakhstan Set to Unlock New Trade & Connectivity Opportunities
Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed on Tuesday Pakistan’s commitment to expanding bilateral trade, investment, and connectivity with Kazakhstan through enhanced air, rail, and road links.
The remarks came during his meeting with Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu, who is on his first official two-day visit to Pakistan with a ministerial delegation.
PM Shehbaz highlighted the strong fraternal ties between the two nations and emphasized the shared resolve to deepen cooperation across multiple sectors. He also extended warm greetings to Kazakh President Kassym Jomart-Tokayev, whom he had recently met in China.
PM Shehbaz and Kazakh DPM Nurtleu Lay Groundwork for Historic Bilateral Agreements
The Prime Minister noted that Pakistan attached high importance to the upcoming visit of President Tokayev to Islamabad later this year. He further proposed sending a delegation to Astana to finalize Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements currently under discussion.
During the talks, both sides reiterated their commitment to elevating bilateral relations, with a particular focus on Pakistan Kazakhstan Trade trade, economy, transport, and people-to-people exchanges.
Kazakh DPM Murat Nurtleu expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s hospitality and underscored that President Tokayev’s forthcoming visit would be a historic milestone, opening a new era of cooperation between Pakistan and Kazakhstan.
Earlier in the day, DPM Nurtleu held detailed discussions with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to a strategic partnership that would take bilateral ties to new heights in Pakistan Kazakhstan Trade.
Federal ministers for communications, economic affairs, and railways, along with senior officials, also attended the high-level meetings.
