Xi Shehbaz meeting highlights ironclad Pak-China friendship
On September 2, 2025, President Xi Jinping met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Beijing during the SCO Summit 2025 and the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Anti-Fascist War.
President Xi reaffirmed the ironclad friendship between China and Pakistan, calling it a resilient bond rooted in trust and shared values. He emphasized the need to accelerate the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor 2.0, upgrade the Free Trade Agreement, and expand cooperation in industries, agriculture, and mining to strengthen Pakistan’s development.
Xi assured support for Pakistan’s unity and security, urging stronger collaboration under global initiatives while stressing the importance of safeguarding Chinese projects in Pakistan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz praised China’s historic role in the global fight against fascism and commended its remarkable achievements under Xi’s leadership.
